UNHCR - Family re-Unification
Impact happens when messages are spread and genuinely felt.
Impact happens when messages are spread and genuinely felt.
In the era of constant visual overload, your message has to stand out in a way that is visually and auditory pleasing and easy to follow and understand.
When we created the video, we understood that speaking of refugees and family separation should be emotional, expressive, and focused while respecting the sensitivity of the matter.
The video lasted for 3:40 minutes, depicting a village in Africa and a teacher who wants to make a difference. Because we didn't want to specify a particular place and be more inclusive, our team took inspiration from various refugee camps and humble villages across Africa to create the story's main setting.
In a soothing and comforting tone, our main character tells us of the unfortunate situation of many separated families and how UNHCR has helped reunite them. Because the aim was not just to point fingers, the character also took us through the process of how and where to apply for such aid.
The style of the animation was cinematic and compassionate, focusing on the faces and bonds of the families and other characters to deliver an impactful message that will push people for a better future.
